Cross River State sets ₦150 million tariff for presidential campaign billboards

The Cross River State Signage and Advertisement Agency (CRISSAA) has established new tariffs for outdoor campaign advertisements ahead of the 2027 general elections. Under the new structure, presidential candidates will be charged ₦150 million, while governorship candidates will pay ₦100 million. Senatorial candidates are set to pay ₦50 million, with House of Representatives candidates paying ₦25 million and State House of Assembly candidates paying ₦5 million.

CRISSAA Director-General Ubong Sam announced the rates during a meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Calabar. Sam stated that the measures aim to regulate advertising spaces and ensure fairness among political parties. He noted that the charges are moderate compared to neighboring states.

Political parties and candidates are required to remove all campaign billboards and advertising materials within 30 days of the election results announcement. Violators may face the removal of materials, fines, or prosecution by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), with potential fines reaching millions of naira.
