The unsecured toolbox on the truck from Nordhausen opened, sending a metal rod that pierced the van’s roof above the driver’s seat. The driver remained unharmed, the van sustained about €7,500 in damage, and police opened a report for insufficient load securing.

In a separate incident near Sint‑Oedenrode, Netherlands, 32‑year‑old motorcyclist Vera from Moergestel was killed after being struck by a Hello Fresh delivery van driven by 33‑year‑old Stijn J. from Belgium.
