Crotone Airport Committee demands investment to revitalize local transport

The Comitato Cittadino Aeroporto Crotone has issued a formal complaint regarding the lack of development and investment at the Crotone airport. After eleven years of advocacy, the group claims that the local community’s right to mobility is being neglected.

The committee specifically criticized Sacal, the company managing Calabrian airports since 2016, alleging that no significant investments have been made to revitalize the Crotone facility. They contrasted this with the levels of investment seen at the Reggio Calabria and Lamezia Terme airports.

Advocates expressed concern that deteriorating transport links are forcing residents to leave the region for work and study, and warned that traveling to Crotone is becoming increasingly difficult compared to previous decades.
