Crotone allocates education funds amid waste service disruptions

The municipality of Crotone has approved a funding plan for integrated education and instruction services for children aged zero to six. Utilizing approximately 1.5 million euros allocated by the Calabria Region, the resources will be used to renovate and secure educational facilities, invest in new buildings and furniture, and expand service availability through increased hours or additional placements.

Separately, Crotone is facing potential disruptions to urban hygiene and waste collection services. Fuel shortages and traffic delays caused by ongoing protests against rising fuel costs in Calabria are impacting the ability of the company Akrea to refuel vehicles and navigate roads. The administration has stated that priority will be given to hospitals and sensitive users, though delays in door-to-door collection and specialized waste services are possible.
