Crotone and Rapallo tighten summer rules for beach cleanliness and noise

The municipality of Crotone issued an ordinance requiring owners of bars, restaurants and food‑service premises along the seafront to keep the area clean during opening hours and after each evening service. The rule obliges businesses to cooperate with the city‑run waste‑collection firm Akrea S.p.A. and aims to curb litter that harms public hygiene and the city’s image during peak tourist season.

In Rapallo, the city council approved an act setting uniform criteria for temporary acoustic exemptions for musical entertainment. The guidelines limit events to one per week per venue, cap nighttime sound levels at 70 dB(A), and require amplified music to end by 00:30, with a later 01:00 cut‑off allowed only as background music during the summer months. The measures seek to balance the interests of tourism‑driven businesses with residents’ right to quiet.
