Crotone awards 2026 Pitagora d'Oro to Dr. Maria Luisa Mingrone

The Comune di Crotone announced that its highest municipal honor, the Pitagora d'Oro 2026, will be awarded to Dr. Maria Luisa Mingrone. The award recognises her distinguished professional career and her institutional commitment to justice, as highlighted by Mayor Voce, who said, “Il conferimento del Pitagora d’Oro alla dottoressa Mingrone rappresenta il riconoscimento della comunità crotonese a una figura di altissimo profilo istituzionale.” Dr. Mingrone succeeds Dr. Antonino De Santis, the 2025 recipient. The ceremony is scheduled for 9 October during the patronal feast of San Dionigi, part of the traditional civic awards event.

The Pitagora d'Oro honours individuals whose work in science, culture, communication, arts, industry, labour or social initiatives has enhanced the prestige of Crotone.
