Crotone beach club suspended for 15 days over security concerns

The Police Commissioner of Crotone, Renato Panvino, has ordered a 15-day suspension of the license for the Terrazza Jonio beach club and its food and beverage services. The preventive measure follows reports from the Carabinieri indicating that the establishment had become a frequent gathering point for individuals with criminal records, including some suspected of links to local organized crime.

Cesare Muraca, the owner and manager of Terrazza Jonio, issued a statement defending his business and employees. Muraca clarified that he was not involved in the incidents that triggered the closure, noting that the aggressive behavior and threats toward law enforcement officers during inspections were attributed to his father. He emphasized his respect for the authorities while highlighting the economic damage caused to the business and its staff during the peak summer season.
