Crotone Coast Guard holds command handover ceremony

A handover ceremony was held at the Crotone Coast Guard military square to mark the change of command for the local maritime outpost. Paolo Piacenza, President of the Port Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, attended the event to oversee the transition.

Captain Domenico Morello, the outgoing commander, was recognized for his contributions to the security and operational efficiency of the Crotone port. Piacenza emphasized that the synergy between the Port Authority and the Coast Guard is essential for the effective management of the maritime system and the development of the territory.

Captain Pasquale Mazza, a native of Crotone, has assumed the role of the new commander. Piacenza expressed confidence that the new leadership will continue to strengthen institutional collaboration to address upcoming challenges regarding port security, efficiency, and regional growth.
