Crotone defeats Salernitana 2-1 despite red card

Crotone secured a 2-1 home victory against Salernitana, driven by first-half goals from Musso and Zunno. Despite being reduced to ten men following the expulsion of goalkeeper Merelli in the 28th minute, Crotone managed to defend their lead for the remainder of the match. This win allows the club to offset a 6-point penalty previously imposed by the TFN for administrative violations from the prior season.

Under the management of Leandro Greco, Crotone is undergoing a period of restructuring following several key player departures. The squad has been replenished with younger players on loan and strategic acquisitions like Musso. Greco, who previously coached at Olbia, Frosinone B, and Pro Patria, is implementing a dynamic 4-3-3 formation.

Conversely, Salernitana struggled to capitalize on their numerical advantage after Crotone's red card. Manager Cosmi is considering tactical changes ahead of their upcoming match against Bari, potentially adjusting the defensive lineup and midfield composition to improve playmaking and verticality.
