Crotone fatal accident: motorcyclist killed in collision on SS 106

A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday, September 11, 2026, on the SS 106 Jonica highway in Crotone. The collision involved a Honda Hornet motorcycle and a Fiat 500 near the intersection with via Fiume Esaro.

A 37-year-old motorcyclist, originally from Crotone, died from severe injuries sustained in the crash. Despite emergency medical efforts and the deployment of an air ambulance, rescuers were unable to save his life. One other person, the driver of the car, was injured in the impact.

Law enforcement, including the State Police and the Questura di Crotone, are investigating the cause of the collision. Traffic in the direction of Reggio Calabria was temporarily restricted to allow for emergency operations and technical assessments.
