Crotone health authority acquires building for new health hub

The Provincial Health Authority (ASP) of Crotone has acquired the former Datel building for approximately 856,000 euros following an auction held on October 1. The property, valued at an estimated 7.5 million euros, will serve as the foundation for the future ‘Cittadella della Salute’ (Health Citadel), a centralized technological and managerial hub designed to unify services and reduce fragmentation.

The authority plans to invest an additional 1.75 million euros in modernization and functional upgrades, bringing the total investment to 2.5 million euros. This move is expected to significantly improve fiscal efficiency; the ASP currently spends 750,000 euros annually on leasing various disconnected buildings. By eliminating these rental costs, the authority expects to amortize the entire investment in approximately three and a half years, addressing previous recommendations from the Court of Auditors regarding public spending containment.
