Crotone Festival integrates cinema with Mediterranean environmental protection

The seventh edition of the “E io ci sto! – Il cinema sotto le stelle” festival is taking place in Crotone from August 22 to 28, 2026. This year, the event has expanded its scope to include Mediterranean and environmental themes through the “Missione Ionio” project.

In partnership with A2A and National Geographic Italia, the initiative combines cinema with scientific research and environmental protection. On August 25 and 26, activities will move to Capocolonna within the Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area. The project includes coordinated actions between land and sea, such as clean-ups, seabed observation, biodiversity monitoring, and microplastic research involving National Geographic Explorer Martina Capriotti and Professor Emilio Sperone.

Evening programming at Orto Tellini features various cultural events, including the “NOVANTA90 Podcast Live” hosted by Fabio Canino, film screenings like “Rino Gaetano Sempre più blu,” and discussions on sustainability and social issues.
