Crotone hosts health prevention event and community wellness activities

The second edition of the ‘StraSalute’ event took place in Crotone, featuring a ‘Health Village’ and a non-competitive cycling event. Organized by the Rotaract Club and Inner Wheel Club of Crotone, in collaboration with the local health authority and municipality, the initiative aimed to bring medical prevention services directly to the citizens.

During the event, specialists provided free consultations across numerous medical branches, including cardiology, dermatology, oncology, and psychiatry. At the Health Village, Letizia Tiano, head of psychiatry at San Giovanni di Dio Hospital, addressed the rising concerns regarding substance abuse in the region, noting that issues with marijuana, cocaine, and alcohol are often linked to psychiatric disorders and anxiety among younger populations.

The program also included a non-competitive bike ride starting from Piazza Pitagora to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity.
