Crotone Municipality Completes Hiring of All 43 Interns

The municipality of Crotone in southern Italy will on 1 August 2026 bring the final eight trainees into permanent positions, completing the conversion of all 43 interns who have been working for the city administration. The hiring programme began in 2023 with ten workers, continued with 25 new permanent staff on 1 January 2026, and now concludes with the last eight.

Vice‑mayor and personnel assessor Sandro Cretella said the move fulfills a promise to employees and their families, noting that “it is the result of a long and complex effort, carried out with determination by the mayor and the whole administration.” Funding for the final tranche came from a mix of regional Calabria funds, royalties and the municipality’s own budget, allowing the city to strengthen its bureaucratic capacity and ensure continuity of public services.

The stabilisation of the full cohort is presented as a milestone for administrative efficiency and a concrete step in the broader plan to reinforce the municipal workforce.
