Crotone Opens New Cardiology Unit; Lazio Leads Italy in Reducing Health Wait Times

A new Emodinamica (cardiology) department has opened in Crotone, Calabria, providing urgent cardiovascular care locally and cutting transfer times for patients. Regional President Roberto Occhiuto and ASP Director Antonello Graziano highlighted the investment as a strategic improvement for the community, praising the work of doctors, nurses and technical staff involved.

In Lazio, the regional health agency Agenas reported that 91.6% of first‑specialist visits and 89.7% of diagnostic exams were delivered within the prescribed timeframes during the first half of 2026. These figures surpass the national averages of 78.5% and 84.6%, respectively, and were attributed to the dedication of medical and administrative personnel across the region's hospitals and clinics.
