Crotone police launch widespread checks and enforce restraining order in abuse case

The State Police in Crotone, directed by Questore Renato Panvino, conducted a large‑scale territorial control operation involving anti‑crime, immigration, administrative, road and railway units, as well as canine teams. In one day the forces identified 795 people, checked 390 vehicles, carried out 36 home‑check inspections and issued several traffic fines.

In a related domestic‑violence action, the mobile squad of the Crotone police executed a court‑ordered restraining measure against a man accused of repeatedly assaulting his mother and sister. The judgment imposed an electronic monitoring bracelet and a ban on approaching the victims. The same day a 47‑year‑old man who had fled house arrest was arrested after his precautionary measures were heightened.

The operations are part of a broader territorial‑control plan aimed at preventing drug trafficking, organized‑crime activity and other offenses in the province.
