Crotone Road Police uncover animal transport irregularities

The Crotone Road Police conducted an operation on October 28 that uncovered significant irregularities in the live animal transport sector. The investigation identified a suspected fraudulent system designed to evade regulations regarding the transport of goods on behalf of third parties.

The operation resulted in administrative sanctions totaling up to 4,130.00 euros and the impounding of a heavy vehicle. Working alongside health personnel from the ASP of Crotone, officers also identified violations concerning the welfare of the animals being transported.

The Sap Crotone union praised the professionalism and coordination of the Road Police, specifically noting the leadership of Chief Commissioner Lucia Marchegiani.
