Crotone sees highest motorcycle insurance price hike in Italy
Motorcycle insurance premiums in Italy have seen significant regional variations, with the province of Crotone recording the highest increase in the country. According to data from Ivass for the second quarter of the year, the average price for two-wheeled vehicle policies in Crotone rose by 24.8% compared to the same period last year.
Nationally, the average premium for insuring a motorcycle stands at 321 euros, representing a 6.1% annual increase. For mopeds, the average cost is 203 euros, up 3.8%. Despite these annual rises, quarterly comparisons show a downward trend, with motorcycle premiums decreasing by 4.4% and mopeds by 7.7% compared to the previous quarter.
Regional disparities remain marked across Italy. While half of the provinces maintain average two-wheeled policy costs below 261 euros, the highest prices, ranging between 297 and 606 euros, are concentrated in Southern Italy and Sicily, specifically in areas such as Naples, Caserta, Salerno, and Catania.
