CROUS strike disrupts French student services

The CFDT union reported significant mobilization during a strike on September 22 affecting the CROUS network. According to the organization, nearly 400 structures across the network were closed.

In the catering sector, strike rates reached approximately 30% nationally. Specific locations saw higher participation, including Montpellier at 50.38%, Amiens at 50.27%, Toulouse at 48.13%, Paris at 46.52%, and Aix-Marseille at 44.75%. The union cited degraded working conditions and insufficient human and budgetary resources as the primary drivers for the industrial action.
