Crowd YouTube creators face court verdicts in financial dispute

The New Taipei District Court has issued verdicts in a legal battle involving the creators of the popular YouTube channel ‘Crowd’. The dispute arose after Andy Wang and his former partner, Zhang Jianing, ended their relationship, leading to allegations of financial misconduct and unauthorized access to channel assets.

Zhang Jianing was acquitted of charges related to changing the YouTube channel password without consent, after presenting a recording in which Andy reportedly agreed to transfer the channel to her. However, her family members received convictions. Zhang’s mother, Tseng Shu-hui, was indicted for business embezzlement, breach of trust, and tax evasion involving approximately 29.96 million TWD in advertising revenue and other income. Zhang’s father, Chang Kuo-lung, received a four-month prison sentence (convertible to a fine) for violating personal data protection laws, while her sister, Chang Chia-yun, received a two-month prison sentence with two years of probation for aiding in tax evasion.

Andy Wang has stated he respects the judicial process and will evaluate his next steps after reviewing the full written judgment.
