Crowdfunding campaign launched to return Valeri masterpiece to Jesi
A crowdfunding campaign titled ‘Riportiamo il Valeri a casa’ has been launched to acquire a significant 18th-century altarpiece for the city of Jesi, Italy. The work, created around 1740 by local artist and architect Domenico Luigi Valeri, depicts Saints Anthony of Padua, Agnes, and Florian.
As the last altarpiece by the master currently held in a private collection, the initiative aims to purchase the painting and donate it to the Municipality of Jesi. The intended destination is the Pinacoteca Civica at Palazzo Pianetti, where it will be integrated into the museum's 18th-century art collection.
Local museum officials and the Feu!Lab art gallery are leading the mobilization to ensure the piece, which features San Floriano—the city's patron saint—becomes accessible to the public, students, and researchers.
