CrowdStrike negotiates $500 million acquisition of Orion Security

US cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike is in advanced negotiations to acquire the Israeli startup Orion Security for approximately $500 million. While the deal is not yet finalized, the potential acquisition highlights a significant trend toward AI-driven security solutions.

Orion Security, founded in 2024 and led by Nitay Milner and CTO Jonathan Kreiner, aims to replace traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools. Unlike conventional systems that rely on manually configured rules—often resulting in high volumes of false positives—Orion utilizes an AI-based agent architecture. This approach analyzes data movement contextually, evaluating user identity, data sensitivity, and historical patterns to better interpret intent and reduce noise.

To date, Orion has raised $38 million in funding, including a Series A led by Norwest Venture Partners. The company maintains operations in both Israel and New York.
