Crown FC driver dies following team bus accident

Yinusa Popoola Amole, a 54-year-old driver for Crown FC of Ogbomoso, has died following a road accident involving the club's team bus. The incident occurred while the squad was traveling to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, to participate in the AFH Pre-Season Tournament in preparation for the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League season.

Amole succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision on a Thursday night. While the driver has passed away, injured players and officials from the club are currently receiving medical treatment.

The family of the deceased has scheduled three-day Fridau prayers for Sunday, October 18, 2026, at his residence in the Amama area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Local political figures and the football community have expressed condolences, describing Amole as a dedicated member of the Crown FC staff.
