Crown Heights man arrested for antisemitic hate crimes

A man has been arrested in Crown Heights following an antisemitic confrontation involving threats against Jewish children and an attempt to use dogs to attack victims.

The incident occurred around 1:00 AM near Albany Avenue and Lefferts Avenue. According to reports, the suspect blocked the path of three Jewish victims and directed antisemitic slurs at them, stating, “You dirty Jews, your kids are always blocking the street, next time I see them I will kill them.”

The suspect allegedly pursued the victims for an additional block, commanding his two dogs to jump on them. One dog reportedly leaped onto a victim’s chest. The confrontation ended near Lefferts Avenue and Kingston Avenue when members of the Crown Heights Shmira arrived at the scene and notified the NYPD. The individual was charged with aggravated harassment and menacing, both of which have been classified as hate crimes.
