Crown Point Energía to drill three new oil wells in Santa Cruz
Crown Point Energía is launching a new drilling campaign in the Koluel Kayke and Piedra Clavada fields within the Santa Cruz province. The initiative involves an investment exceeding $7.2 million and will utilize the SAI 383 equipment to drill three new wells at depths between 2,400 and 2,600 meters.
These drilling operations will target various geological formations, including Mina El Carmen, Caleta Olivia, and D-129. One well is designated as exploratory to better understand the productive potential of the D-129 formation. Jaime Álvarez, the Minister of Energy and Mining of Santa Cruz, estimated that the three wells could collectively produce approximately 90 cubic meters of oil per day.
The campaign is expected to generate between 85 and 90 direct and indirect jobs, providing opportunities for workers to re-enter the oil industry. This project aims to increase production and stimulate economic activity within the Golfo San Jorge Basin.
