Crown Prince Camel Festival continues in Taif with 50 million riyal prize pool
The eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival is currently underway at the historic Taif camel racing grounds in Saudi Arabia. Organized by the Saudi Camel Federation and held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the event features total prizes exceeding 50 million riyals.
During recent competitions, Saudi camels maintained a strong lead, securing 17 wins out of 21 morning rounds. Notable performances included the camel ‘Al-Zaeem,’ owned by Mousa Al-Mousa, which won the ‘Qa’dan – Open’ cup with a time of 2:52.705 minutes. Emirati camels also showed significant presence, winning three cups in various categories, including ‘Fakhr’ and ‘Sorouh.’ Qatari camels recorded three victories during the morning sessions.
The festival has introduced several enhancements, including the debut of ‘Al Mazayen’ competitions to expand the event's scope. Additionally, the festival has undergone a technical and media transformation, utilizing 4K broadcasting technology, high-speed digital infrastructure, and an expanded media center to accommodate over 300 specialists and provide live coverage across the Middle East and Africa.
