Crown Prince Camel Racing Festival continues in Taif

The eighth edition of the Crown Prince Festival for Camel Racing is currently underway at the Taif Historical Camel Racing Track in Saudi Arabia. Organized by the Saudi Camel Federation, the festival features various categories and offers total prizes exceeding 50 million riyals.

In the human rider (Hajana) competitions, 69 participants from six Arab nationalities competed in four rounds for men and women. Saudi riders dominated the results, with Bandar Al-Huwaiti and Rami Al-Balawi winning the men's rounds, while Khuloud Al-Shammari and Jawa'a Al-Rashidi secured victories in the women's categories.

In the Al-Judha' category, which saw 652 camels compete across 38 rounds, competition was intense between regional powers. While Saudi camels led the morning sessions, the evening cup rounds saw significant success from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Specifically, the Emirati camel ‘Adeeb’ recorded the fastest time of the day. Qatari camel ‘Al-Farkiya’ also secured a major title. The festival continues through September 13, aiming to preserve traditional heritage and expand the sport's international presence.
