Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit celebrate 25th wedding anniversary

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The couple, who married on August 25, 2001, in Oslo Cathedral, have maintained their union despite initial public skepticism regarding Mette-Marit’s background.

To commemorate the silver jubilee, the Royal Palace is hosting a special exhibition. For the first time, visitors can view items such as the Princess’s wedding dress and the Prince’s gala uniform. The exhibition also features a recreation of the wedding banquet table, floral arrangements, and the wedding cake. Additionally, the palace is opening the smoking room to the public for guided tours as part of the anniversary celebrations.
