Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra to attend first Storting dinner

Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra will make her first appearance as a crown princess at the traditional Storting dinner in Oslo. The gala, hosted by King Haakon VIII at the Royal Palace, serves as a formal dinner for members of the Norwegian Parliament.

This event marks the first such dinner hosted by King Haakon VIII as monarch following the recent passing of King Harald. The royal proceedings will also include Queen Sonja. Due to ongoing rehabilitation following a lung transplant, Queen Mette-Marit will be absent from the event.

Historians note that Ingrid Alexandra will serve as a hostess alongside her father. Following the recent changes in the royal succession, the Crown Princess now holds the position of the second highest-ranking woman in Norway.
