Crowns and Pawns: Amber Road announced as new adventure game

Developer Tag of Joy and publisher Headup have announced ‘Crowns and Pawns: Amber Road’, a new point-and-click adventure game for PC. The title was revealed during the Choices Matter Festival on Steam.

The story follows Milda Kovas, who is accused of stealing a legendary amber artifact known as the Sun Stone. To prove her innocence, Milda must travel across Europe along the historical Amber Road to recover scattered fragments of the stone, which are said to grant supernatural powers.

The game will feature hand-painted 4K environments and incorporate Baltic myths, legends, and historical elements. Confirmed locations include Lithuania, Austria, and Italy, with other European regions to be announced. Gameplay mechanics will include exploration, item collection, puzzles, and dialogue choices that may affect the narrative. The project is supported by funding from the European Union’s Creative Europe MEDIA program, the Lithuanian Council for Culture, and the Lithuanian Film Centre. A release date and specific platforms have not yet been disclosed.
