Croxley Green residents petition against 600-home development

A petition has gained nearly 1,400 signatures in opposition to a proposal for 600 new homes near Croxley Green. The development, planned for land north of Little Green Lane, is currently the subject of an appeal following an initial rejection by Three Rivers District Council.

Opponents of the project, including the Croxley Green Residents Association, have raised concerns regarding the impact on local infrastructure and traffic. Environmental concerns are also central to the debate, with critics citing potential harm to wildlife in Whippendell Wood and Green Lane Wood, as well as risks to the nearby Grade II listed Durrants House and Cassiobury Park.

Developer Richborough has defended the scheme, describing it as a “high-quality, well-connected and sustainable new neighbourhood” that includes affordable housing and green infrastructure. A four-day public inquiry is scheduled to determine the outcome of the appeal.
