CRPF organizes 10km marathon in Manipur's Noni district
The 86th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a 10-kilometer marathon in Pinjang village, Noni district, Manipur. The event was held under the ‘Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation’ (Spandan) initiative.
Approximately 110 youths from various age groups participated in the race. The Spandan program aims to promote peace, national unity, and grassroots athletic talent through sports, while encouraging youth to engage in constructive activities to steer them away from social issues like drug abuse.
Hannah Kamei, Director of the Department of Commerce and Industry for the Manipur government, attended as the chief guest and flagged off the marathon. Winners received cash prizes, medals, and certificates, with Tiyakhmalung Thaimei securing first place. The event was supported by local clubs and villagers who expressed appreciation for the CRPF's initiative.
