CRPF soldier arrested in Madhya Pradesh for child rape

A 59-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier has been arrested in the Majhouli police station area of Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh, for the alleged rape of a nearly four-year-old girl.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night of August 14, 2026, after the child was lured away by the neighbor under the pretext of receiving snacks. The child returned home crying and informed her mother of the assault. Following a formal complaint filed on August 15, police deployed two teams to locate the suspect, eventually apprehending him in a secluded area approximately 20 kilometers from the village.

The accused, who is currently posted in Jammu and Kashmir and was on a 20-day leave, reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. He has been charged under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections. A court has since ordered him to be sent to the district jail in Sidhi.
