Crucea Iancului Monastery celebrates feast day in Mărișel

At the Crucea Iancului Monastery in Mărișel, Cluj County, Bishop-vicar Samuel Bistrițeanul celebrated the monastery's feast day with a Holy Liturgy on August 16, 2026.

During the service, which commemorated the Holy Martyr Brâncoveni and Saint Lady Maria Brâncoveanu, Bishop Samuel delivered a sermon focused on the necessity of forgiveness. He emphasized that while humans possess spiritual debts they cannot erase through their own power, God offers infinite mercy and the opportunity for repentance. The Bishop noted that receiving divine forgiveness requires a corresponding willingness to forgive others, warning that holding onto hatred or vengeance prevents true spiritual freedom.
