Cruise lines unveil expanded 2028 itineraries and deployments

National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has announced its 2028-2029 deployment, featuring expanded itineraries across Antarctica, the Arctic, Alaska, Europe, and the South Pacific. Key highlights include a return to French Polynesia with access to the Makatea atoll and Pitcairn Island, as well as longer voyages in Southeast Alaska designed for wildlife viewing in the Tongass National Forest.

The new season emphasizes expedition-style travel led by naturalists and scientists. In Europe, river voyages will include cultural experiences such as visits to Melk Abbey and encounters with Holocaust survivors in Amsterdam. Antarctica offerings will include new holiday departures and expanded cruise/fly options.

Additionally, Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for its summer 2028 season. The company plans to operate over 450 voyages across 20 ships, including the Norwegian Aqua, which will offer roundtrip cruises from Miami to the Bahamas.
