Cruise ships arrive at Chania and Igoumenitsa ports

Major cruise ship arrivals have been recorded at Greek ports this Tuesday, highlighting the growing cruise tourism sector in the region.

In Chania, the massive Sun Princess arrived at Souda Bay on Tuesday morning, carrying 4,347 passengers who are expected to tour the Chania area.

Simultaneously, the Spirit of Discovery, operated by Saga Cruises, arrived at the port of Igoumenitsa. The vessel carries approximately 950 passengers and 500 crew members. Travelers from this arrival have organized excursions to Syvota, Ioannina, and Meteora, utilizing local transport services. Local officials, including the Mayor of Igoumenitsa and representatives from the Hellenic Police and Coast Guard, met with the crew to discuss strategies for leveraging cruise arrivals to boost economic activity and tourism throughout the Epirus region.
