Crunchyroll adds 'Kagurabachi' to 2027 lineup as 'Dr. Stone' ends after seven years

Crunchyroll announced it has secured exclusive worldwide streaming rights to the upcoming anime adaptation of the manga "Kagurabachi". The series, created by Takeru Hokazono, follows Chihiro, the son of a legendary swordsmith, on a revenge quest. Production is handled by studio Cypic with Tetsuya Takeuchi directing and Keigo Sasaki designing characters. The anime is scheduled to launch globally in the spring season of 2027, with an expected April release.

Separately, Crunchyroll’s long‑running sci‑fi series "Dr. Stone" concluded on June 25 after seven years and 95 episodes. The finale revealed a plan to build a time machine that could reverse the petrification of humanity, leaving the story on a cliffhanger. The series, which began in 2019, was praised for blending scientific concepts with adventure and has become one of the platform’s flagship titles.
