Crunchyroll and Netflix roll out major Summer 2026 anime lineup

Crunchyroll announced its Summer 2026 slate, featuring sequels such as Black Torch, Ghost in the Shell, Mushoku Tensei Season 3, Bleach: Thousand‑Year Blood War – The Calamity and new titles like Kaiju Girl Caramelise! and Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games. The platform, which celebrated its 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, now reports more than 21 million subscribers worldwide, with teenage viewership increasingly balanced between genders.

Netflix is adding the fantasy series Sparks of Tomorrow, produced by Kyoto Animation, to its schedule. The show will debut with weekly episodes on July 5, 2026, and will also air on Japanese broadcasters ABC TV, Tokyo MX, TV Aichi and BS11. An early screening of the first two episodes was held at Anime Expo in California on July 3, and the series is promoted as part of the broader summer anime surge.
