Crunchyroll announces North American theatrical release for ‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ film

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced a limited three-day theatrical release for ‘The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc’ in the United States and Canada. The film is scheduled to screen in late 2026.

Adapting a pivotal storyline from Tsutomu Sato’s light novel series, the film follows siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba as they navigate the complexities of the Yotsuba Clan. The plot centers on the selection of a successor to the current clan head, Maya Yotsuba, which brings long-held family secrets and power struggles to the forefront.

Produced by animation studio Eight Bit and directed by Jimmy Stone, the movie will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and a new English dub. Following its theatrical engagement, the film is expected to be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
