Crusoe raises $3.9 billion to expand AI infrastructure

Crusoe, a Denver-based AI infrastructure provider, has closed a $3.9 billion Series F funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $30.9 billion. The financing round was co-led by Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital, and Valor Equity Partners, with participation from Nvidia, Founders Fund, and the Qatar Investment Authority.

Robinhood Ventures Fund I contributed approximately $25 million in preferred stock to the round. The capital is earmarked for large-scale data center projects, including a facility in Abilene, Texas, currently utilized by OpenAI, and the development of modular AI factories known as ‘Spark.’

Crusoe, which transitioned from cryptocurrency mining to AI infrastructure in 2018, manages over 6 gigawatts of contracted capacity. The company utilizes a vertically integrated model, manufacturing many of its own electrical components and specialized enclosures in-house to accelerate deployment and navigate local infrastructure constraints.
