Liga MX clubs to play friendly matches in the United States
During the FIFA international break, several Liga MX clubs are scheduled to play friendly matches in Mexico and the United States to maintain competitive rhythm. A primary highlight is the ‘Clásico Joven’ between Cruz Azul and Club América, set to take place on October 1 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
Cruz Azul manager Joel Huiqui stated that the break serves as a vital opportunity to correct defensive errors and manage player rehabilitation, specifically for Amaury García and Rodolfo Rotondi. Following a recent 3-3 draw against Toluca, Huiqui granted players two days of rest, allowing some to travel directly to San Diego to join the squad.
In addition to the match against América, Cruz Azul is scheduled to face the LA Galaxy in Los Angeles. Other notable friendly matchups during this period include Monterrey vs. Toluca in Houston and América vs. Chivas in Oakland.
