Cruz Azul announces 6.5 billion peso investment in Mexico
Cooperativa La Cruz Azul has announced a 6.5 billion peso investment plan aimed at industrial expansion, healthcare strengthening, and community development in Hidalgo and Oaxaca, Mexico.
Of the total investment, 1.8 billion pesos will be used to renovate the cement plant in Tula de Allende, while 3.7 billion pesos is allocated to a new cement production line that is currently 85 percent complete. Once fully operational, the company expects to reach an annual production capacity of 3 million tons of cement. These industrial projects are projected to generate approximately 14,200 direct and indirect jobs.
Additionally, over 1 billion pesos will be directed toward upgrading the cooperative's hospitals. This includes the construction of smart operating rooms, a medical specialties tower, and clinics for hemodialysis, intensive care, and blood banks. The healthcare improvements will serve workers, their families, and local residents in Ciudad Cooperativa Cruz Azul, Hidalgo, and Lagunas, Oaxaca.
As part of its social and sporting commitments, the organization also announced that the Cruz Azul football club will return to the Estadio Refundación in Pachuca to support local youth and sports development.
