Cruz Hewitt reaches Wimbledon junior semi-finals

Seventeen‑year‑old Cruz Hewitt, son of former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt, advanced to the semi‑finals of the boys’ singles at Wimbledon. He entered the tournament unseeded, defeated second‑seed Jamie Mackenzie 6‑3, 6‑4 in the third round and then beat Bulgarian ninth‑seed Dimitar Kisimov 6‑1, 6‑2 to reach his first junior semi‑final. The win made him the first Australian to reach the junior quarter‑finals since Alex de Minaur in 2016 and the first to progress to a semi‑final since Luke Saville in 2011.
