Cruz Roja Costarricense launches national fundraising campaign

The Costa Rican Red Cross has launched a national fundraising campaign titled ‘Colecta que Salva Vidas’ (Collection that Saves Lives) to address a complex financial crisis. The institution stated that current funding sources are insufficient to cover the rising costs of maintaining permanent humanitarian operations and meeting the country's increasing emergency response needs.

Despite years of efforts to contain costs and improve efficiency, the organization requires additional support to maintain its capacity to provide assistance to communities nationwide. The campaign seeks contributions from citizens, companies, municipalities, and both public and private organizations.

Donations can be made through Banco Nacional via account 100100-7, with the detail ‘Donación’. The Red Cross emphasized its humanitarian nature, calling for dialogue and an avoidance of polarization, reiterating that its mission is to save lives and alleviate suffering without distinction.
