Cruz Roja implements community support and recovery initiatives in Spain

Cruz Roja is conducting various social, economic, and health-oriented initiatives across different regions in Spain. In the Requena-Utiel area, the organization is focused on economic and social recovery following the devastating floods of October 2024. Their response includes providing 5,000 euro grants to help small businesses reopen, distributing appliances and vouchers to families, and offering vocational training, such as elevator maintenance courses, to address local labor needs.

In Madrid, the organization is engaging in community awareness and emotional support. In the Fuencarral district, Cruz Roja utilized art therapy sessions to help participants from various programs—including immigrant integration and mental health projects—express emotions and build social bonds.

Additionally, in the Vallecas and Carabanchel neighborhoods, Cruz Roja has carried out community outreach focused on addiction prevention, nutrition, mental health, and energy consumption. These activities include street-level drug prevention actions, participation in local association fairs, and workshops regarding carbon footprints and eating disorders.
