Cruz Roja in Ciudad Victoria faces severe monthly deficit

The Cruz Roja Mexicana delegation in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, is facing a severe monthly financial deficit of 220,000 pesos. While monthly operating costs reach 300,000 pesos, fixed revenues only total approximately 80,000 pesos.

Francisco Arellano Conde, the local delegate, stated that the crisis has forced the institution to limit its operational territory. The organization has ceased emergency coverage in surrounding areas, such as the municipality of Padilla, to prioritize scheduled medical transfers that generate essential recovery fees. Of every peso earned, 60 cents are allocated to ambulance operations and 40 cents to the delegation.

The institution is currently managing accumulated debts with utility providers, including the CFE and Comapa. To mitigate the shortage, the Cruz Roja is seeking support from local business leaders and has implemented rounding-up donation programs in convenience stores. The delegation aims to have three ambulances fully equipped and operational for both emergencies and transfers by September.
