Cruz Roja Mexicana seeks tenants for vacant Veracruz building
The Mexican Red Cross is exploring commercial offers to revitalize a historic building in downtown Veracruz. Located at the corner of López Rayón and Clavijero alley, the property has faced significant deterioration and vandalism following the closure of former tenants, Tiendas Contino and La Merced café, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Oswaldo Ficachi Figueroa, the state delegate for the Red Cross in Veracruz, stated that there are currently two significant offers from commercial entities interested in the ground-floor spaces. One potential tenant is an import goods and gift company that already operates in other cities, including Xalapa. The institution has temporarily sealed the building's entrances with wooden boards to prevent further damage while these commercial lease negotiations proceed.
