Cruzeiro and Caxias announce key football management updates

Cruzeiro has officially introduced Paulinho as its new football director. The 38-year-old, formerly of Mirassol, signed a two-season contract and will play a central role in the club's sporting planning and squad assembly for 2027. During his presentation, Paulinho emphasized a commitment to respect and understanding existing internal processes before proposing changes.

In separate news, Caxias is advancing negotiations to rehire coach Thiago Gomes. The 42-year-old previously helped the club avoid relegation to Serie D in 2024. The proposed contract would run through the end of the 2027 Serie C Brazilian Championship, with assistant Fabiano Carvalho expected to join the technical staff.
