Cruzeiro and Grêmio leadership reaffirm support for coaches amid season challenges

Cruzeiro SAF president Pedro Lourenço has addressed recent club setbacks, including eliminations from the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil. While acknowledging the fans' right to demand better results, Lourenço reaffirmed his long-term commitment to head coach Artur Jorge, noting that the club's strategic plan extends through 2030 to ensure stability and avoid the frequent coaching changes that have hindered previous projects.

In player news, striker Chico da Costa is reportedly close to a loan move to Fortaleza to compete in the Série B, as he is no longer in the current technical staff's plans. Additionally, the Labor Court in Minas Gerais has ordered Cruzeiro to indemnify former player Camila Arrieta following a serious knee injury sustained during a match in 2024, ruling the injury a workplace accident.

Meanwhile, Grêmio has publicly confirmed its support for coach Luís Castro. Despite the team's precarious position in the Campeonato Brasileiro standings, CEO Alex Leitão stated that the board maintains full confidence in Castro and intends for him to remain in charge until the end of the season.
