Cruzeiro close to $10 million transfer of midfielder Christian to Krasnodar

Brazilian club Cruzeiro is nearing the completion of a transfer for midfielder Christian to Russian side FC Krasnodar, with the Russian club prepared to pay roughly $10 million (about R$52 million). The deal, which would make Christian the third player sold by the club in 2026, follows earlier transactions that have already brought in approximately R$254 million: left‑back Kauã Prates to Borussia Dortmund for €12 million, midfielder Ryan Guilherme to Rio Ave for €2.5 million, forward Cauan Baptistella to Metalist for €5 million and left‑back Kaiki to Italian club Como for €14 million. Christian, 25, was acquired by Cruzeiro for €4 million in 2025 and has scored eight goals this season, making him a key player. Krasnodar raised its offer from $7 million to $10 million, and the club is expected to finalize the move soon. Other interest in Cruzeiro players, such as a potential bid from Nottingham Forest for goalkeeper Otávio, is also reported.
